When modifying #E3#-series Corolla, the first concern is the handling and the weakness of the powertrain. Rear leaf springs are soft, and the support is weak. I had once a Corolla KE30 with 4A-GE. It was real nice sleeper - green colour, four door-model, towing hook until some bastards stole and raped it. Pictures coming soon. Anyhow, problem with handling was solved (not perfectly; full throttle accelerations with on-off clutch did bend the leafsprings and that caused rear-axle bouncing) with an axle from the Carina TA-12 and the leaf springs from a KE36 (the station wagon) with an additional leaf.
